Blog #3 is due June 28, 2012. This blog entry will focus on what you have learned in this course, how your project experience has helped you, how you see technology being used in your own classroom, what your future plans are for technology in your teaching, and what outstanding issues or questions you think need to be addressed as you continue to learn about and use technology. Use this blog to explore the future of educational technology in your own professional life

Man this class has gone by so quickly.  Being one of the people who can navigate facebook and basic computer technology, I have learned so much through this class.

As far as the technology in the future technology use, It is all up hill from where I am.  I hope to continue using technology such as twitter to keep updated with certain ed tech new and happenings to make my self a better teacher.  I plan to experiment more with prezi and use prezi to add pazaz to presentations to engage students learning.  I would like to explore more with audacity and video.  I could record lectures and post them so students can review material at home.  I explained in my final project how webquests can facilitate creative projects which can explore subject further than straight research.  Nearly everything in this class can help me in my future class.  Since I don't have a classroom, I feel I have the freedom to change habits now and learn new technology before I become a teacher.  Other teachers have the restraints of time, and habit of how they are currently teaching.  One of my constraints will be getting into the technology mindset and using it in everyday to feel comfortable using it professionally.  I have at least two years before I become a teacher to think about technology and what objective to I ultimately want the the students to learn.  One thing which Paula talked about that hit home is the concept of flexibility in learning.  I have experienced with teaching in the pool and being flexible with teaching skills in the water, out of the water, physically moving their arms, and sometimes drawing on the boards.  I think incorporating technology really allows the teacher to  use universal design and level the playing field with LD student.  I am eager to use the skills i know from teaching in the pool to skills with computers and other technology in the classroom.

  1. Lori, I enjoyed having you in class. I also recognize how hard it might have been at times to not have your own classroom like so many of the other students. But you pulled it off well. I am glad you appreciated Paula's component. That UDL stuff is very important for teachers to learn, I think. Good luck to you.
